We know that having your wedding hair and makeup trial can be one of the most nerve-wracking parts of your wedding day planning process.
We get it!
You have so many choices and decisions to be made when it comes to how your hair and makeup will look on your wedding day. But you’ve narrowed it down to a few elegant hair and makeup looks and created a Pinterest board – what’s next?
How do I communicate the wedding day look I’m hoping for?
First, make sure you choose a minimum two to three hairstyles and at least two makeup looks. When it comes to your hair, try to find a front and a back photo that shows your style. Your hair inspiration photos should definitely be in your own hair color.
For makeup, choose a look that is both elegant and timeless and that has a person with a similar skin tone and eye color.
Download those photos (along with your dress) and share them with whoever is handling your trial - that can be the owner of the company or the stylists themselves. At Beautiful Brides, you have a 24-hour text line so send them to Dana anytime!
How do I know if I will need to add clip-in hair extensions for my style?
Make sure you share your hair inspo photos at least three-four weeks before your trial appointment. Your artist will compare a selfie (front and back) with the hairstyle you want and determine if you need added length or volume. Also, check with your stylist on whether they will trim them during the trial, or if you need to take them to your stylist.
Keep in mind that if you need extensions, it takes a bit of time to get them without paying a high price for overnight shipping. You’ll definitely need to have them for your trial appointment (P.S. Can I get a blowout at my trial?
Unless you have a short haircut (inverted bob or the like) and would like a fresh blowout on the wedding day, it’s not recommended to wash your hair and have it blown out at the trial. Having clean and dry hair is sufficient for updo or down do styling. Just check with the owner or individual who is scheduling the trial.
Will the same artists who do my trial be my artists on the wedding day?
Absolutely! That’s why it’s so important to have your service count before the trial so the right artists can be assigned to your trial run AND wedding date.
What should I have with me for my trial?
It’s not absolutely necessary, but if possible, have your veil or any headpiece so your stylist can place it into your hair so you can see the whole look.
As for makeup, if there’s any particular lipstick that you love and want to wear on your big day, have that too. As for anything else, your makeup artist will have everything you need!
What happens after my trial?
At Beautiful Brides Hair and Makeup, the owner will contact you within 24-48 hours to go over any questions or concerns you may have. You’ll receive your final contract for signature and payment and then you’re all set!
You’ll be contacted no less than one month to go over the final details so a timeline can be drafted and sent to you for approval.
